Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage

Book

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle massage technique intended to stimulate lymph circulation, detoxify the body and help the immune system function properly. The patient is naked or in underwear, he is lying on a massage table and covered with a sheet. Drainage can also be done on a padded floor mat. The massage is done mostly on the skin and without oil.

The massage therapist uncovers the area to be treated and performs a series of slow, gentle movements that create a pumping effect. The aim is to activate the lymphatic vessels, to drain the lymph nodes located in particular in the neck, armpits, groin and abdomen, to drain excess fluids present in the tissues and to improve circulation.

Anyone can benefit from a Lymphatic Drainage, except contraindication. Unlike the blood which circulates by being pushed by the beating of the heart, the lymph does not have a pump to facilitate its movement. It is therefore only body movements and muscle contractions that ensure its circulation. It is therefore indicated for people who are less physically active or who spend a lot of time in a sitting position. It is also recommended in cases of water retention (lymphatic edema) which often occurs in the knees and ankles, all linked to an accumulation of water and waste in the tissues.

Un super concept. Prise de rendez-vous facile. Massothérapeute hyper professionnel avec une technique que j'ai apprécié. A refaire, surtout pour pouvoir simplement enfiler mon linge mou une fois le soin complété!
